Man Utd: Pundit discusses Odion Ighalo’s future at the club
Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has been linked with a surprise move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Nigeria international reportedly has no interest in swapping Old Trafford for the Parc des Princes. The forward is on loan with the Red Devils until January 2021 from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.
Manchester United signed Ighalo on loan in January, with many criticising the Red Devils for that decision.
However, the Nigeria international has done little wrong for the club since moving and has scored five goals in the time since his arrival.
United extended Ighalo’s loan spell in June to run until January 2021, with the former Watford star acting as cover to Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood up top.
PSG have been linked, however, with Thomas Tuchel impressed by Ighalo and wanting him to deputise for the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi next season.
Yet Allnigeriasoccer claim that PSG have yet to touch base with Ighalo’s camp about a potential move to the Parc des Princes.

“I’m sending thanks to the Shanghai president and director for the support because they know this is what I want. So I’m thanking them and I’m happy that this has happened. They wish me all the best too.
“Like I’ve said, since I was young, I’ve been supporting this club and playing for it is a dream. Now I’ve extended my loan, it makes it more even clear and I’m committed as I know, in my head, I’m here until January ending.
“I just want to work hard and enjoy it, support the team and do whatever I can to make us go higher and higher.”
While Ighalo is enjoying his United adventure, he’s still expected to return to China when the transfer window reopens in January.
And the Red Devils could then swoop for a new centre-forward, with several players of interest.
Solskjaer would still like to sign Erling Haaland one day, despite the youngster turning down the Red Devils in favour of Borussia Dortmund earlier in the season.
Moussa Dembele has been monitored for a number of years, with the former Fulham and Celtic striker shining at Lyon in France.
And United would love to bring Harry Kane to the Theatre of Dreams, although know the Tottenham star would go at a premium rate of £200million.
The club’s current strikers, Martial and Greenwood, have both sparkled this term.
Martial has scored 23 goals this season, while Greenwood has managed 17 from 48 appearances.
