Man Utd: Solskjaer says team are ‘always looking to improve’
Manchester United are frustrated that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will miss out on Jude Bellingham, reports say. The teenager is primed to leave Birmingham City for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign. And that supposedly hasn’t gone down well at Old Trafford.
Manchester United boss Solskjaer had hoped to sign Bellingham when the transfer window reopens, with the Norwegian believing the 17-year-old to be a generational talent.
But the teenager is instead primed to head to Germany with Borussia Dortmund, who are confident they’ve won the race for the player’s signature.
And The Athletic say United are frustrated behind the scenes at missing out on Bellingham, who will be the second player to reject them in favour of the Bundesliga side.
Back in January, United wanted to sign Erling Haaland.
Solskjaer had jetted out to meet the teenager, who was scoring goals galore in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg at the time.

Haaland had even reportedly given United his word that he’d be heading to Old Trafford, having previously played under Solskjaer at Molde in Norway.
But they missed out and that’s set to be the same with Bellingham, who has impressed for Birmingham with performances beyond his teenage years.
While United won’t be landing the 17-year-old, they do have several other players on their radar with the transfer window creeping closer.
Jadon Sancho is their priority target, with the Borussia Dortmund star shining over in Germany for the third season on the spin.
The England international managed 17 goals and 17 assists from 34 Bundesliga matches this term and is also wanted by Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and PSG.
"There is quite a lot of planning going on,” he said.
“When do we start the league? That is obviously determined by how far we go in Europe, you can't really decide on the training programme.
"There are so many small decisions, transfers are out of our hands as well.
"If the team is going well, what do we need? What don't we need?
“That's the way we're working and you've got to plan for different scenarios. Uncertainty of dates, how much holiday, what will next season look like? It's a little bit up in the air."
