Man Utd star Jesse Lingard performs incredible trick shot
A Manchester United coach reportedly aimed a dig at Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot after the club’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle earlier in the season. The pair have both endured troublesome campaigns at Old Trafford for varying reasons. And both struggled as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side battled their way past Norwich and into the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday night.
For Dalot and Lingard, Manchester United’s FA Cup tie with Norwich represented the perfect opportunity.
Both players were unleashed by Solskjaer right from the start, with the duo starting in the absences of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford respectively.
But the pair both toiled against Norwich, easily the club’s worst two players on the pitch as they narrowly battled their way to victory at Carrow Road.
Fans have been quick to criticise in the aftermath with Lingard getting the lion’s share of it. It’s been over a year since the England international scored in the Premier League, though he has one FA Cup goal to his name so far.
And The Athletic say that, earlier in the season, a United coach aimed a dig at Lingard and Dalot.
It’s claimed that, after the defeat against Newcastle where the pair both started, the coach admitted that ‘the toolbox is hardly overflowing with talent right now’.

Dalot should get another year to prove himself with the Portuguese right-back suffering with injuries this term. But, with Wan-Bissaka ahead of him, whether he can make an impact remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, speaking recently, former United star Paul Parker expressed a belief Lingard would fit in at Inter Milan.
“One player who may be moving on is Jesse Lingard,” former United defender Parker told Eurosport.
“He is on the periphery now. Once he was delivering for club and country, and he became big news - a local boy who took his opportunity.
“But now when he gets his chances he can’t stand out and lead a group of young players, and nor do senior colleagues help him raise his game. He’s in a rut.
“When the team are playing well, that will be killing him. If you’re in his position, you don’t want the team to do well because then you can get another chance.
“For now Mason Greenwood, [Marcus] Rashford and [Bruno] Fernandes are doing their jobs. They’ve done what United needed Lingard to do, but he has to get close to Fernandes’ level before he can demand another chance.
“Now he’s signed up with Mino Raiola he’s probably looking to get abroad.
“He’s unlikely to find a top European club who wants him, but everyone is looking for cheap players right now.
“He could go to Italy to re-establish himself, perhaps at Inter Milan. But he has to ask, is he moving to spark his career or simply to embellish his CV?”
