Man Utd fans sing about the Glazer ownership of club
Manchester United are reportedly determined to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer which, when you consider both the fact they already have Bruno Fernandes and the player’s struggles since leaving Liverpool, is rather odd. But the Brazil international, despite his issues, remains a big name. And the Glazers would be delighted to have another money-making machine on board.
Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Coutinho this summer, with the Brazil international set to be available.
Barcelona signed him from Liverpool in January 2018 for a huge £142million installed with the belief that he’d be the ticket to Champions League glory.
But, ever since then, Coutinho’s star has diminished.
It certainly doesn’t shine anywhere near as brightly as it did when he was at Liverpool, where the Samba star established himself as one of the best players in world football.
At Barcelona he simply couldn’t make a name for himself, failing to sparkle alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Coutinho was a regular when Niko Kovac was in charge but, ever since the departure of the Croatian, has struggled majorly.
Yet United seem undeterred.
It would certainly be an odd one. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly eyeing the player, despite the way he’s struggled over the last two years.
That’s also despite having Fernandes on the books.
United reportedly see Coutinho as the ideal player for the No 10 role, envisaging a future where he returns to his best and creates chances for the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and, if the club are right with their expectations, Jadon Sancho.
But that would be a strange move, particularly when Fernandes has flourished so much in that position so far.
