Former Leeds striker Noel Whelan has claimed that Poveda may not play for the rest of the season, if the current squad stays fit.
“I just don’t think we need him right now, to be honest,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“We’ve got Alioski who’s better than him, more efficient because you can play him left wing-back and left midfield, he can go through the middle if needed.
“Tyler Roberts is now vying for that striker position, like-for-like with Augustin now, so, yeah, I can’t see him featuring too much between now and the end of the season, to be quite honest with you.
