Liverpool have 'nothing to worry about' says Ian Wright
Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has been Frank Lampard’s player of the season so far, claims former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright. Kovacic joined Chelsea on a permanent basis last summer, joining from Real Madrid. The Croatia international spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge but failed to make a real impact in the Premier League.

“I think he’s been for me so far, what I’ve seen of Chelsea, their player of the season for them, the way he’s come in.
“I know he struggled a bit last season, didn’t know where he was going to be playing.
“You kind of see him in a situation where he’s playing in a role where he breaks things up but when he breaks things up he not only breaks it, he wants to try and get them on the attack.
“He wins it, gets it back and wants to go forward.

Kovacic has been a consistent cog in an otherwise inconsistent Chelsea team in recent weeks.
And earlier this week Lampard said being more clinical in front of goal is a must for his side.
“It comes with the territory of being a Chelsea player in an attacking area, there’s a pressure on you to deliver when it comes to goals and assists,” Lampard said.
“When you look back at the stats, you have to ask whether you have contributed enough in the things that really matter.
“We need more goals from forward areas. When you’re trying to make the top four, if you start to make comparisons with other teams that make the top four year in, year out or the teams that are there now, there are goals across their frontlines.”
