Man Utd sent a scout to watch Timo Werner says expert
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to know of any developments surrounding Timo Werner’s future, according to reports. The RB Leipzig star is, however, unlikely to sign before the transfer deadline.
Manchester United boss Solskjaer confirmed on Wednesday night that he wanted to sign a striker, having seen both Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial toil in their 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Manchester City.
“We need more goalscorers, more goals, someone who wants to break their nose or toe to score,” he said.
“It doesn’t always have to be nice goals. I need to challenge them more.”
Werner has been in lightning form this season, scoring 20 goals from 19 Bundesliga games so far.
And ESPN say Solskjaer wants to know of any developments surrounding the 23-year-old’s future.
However, while United appear to admire Werner, the chances of him joining before the transfer deadline appears remote.
