Man Utd close to signing another player on top of Bruno Fernandes transfer
Manchester United have Bruno Fernandes in the bag - and a second player looks set to join the Red Devils before Friday's transfer deadline.
Man Utd signing Nathan Bishop makes unreal save in training
Manchester United are close to signing Southend United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop, it has been claimed. The club already have agreed a deal for Bruno Fernandes and the 20-year-old looks set to join the Portugal international at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have spent the bulk of the January transfer window chasing a deal for Fernandes, who has flourished for Sporting Lisbon over the last two years.
And, on Tuesday, they finally made the breakthrough in negotiations that they’d been hoping for.
United have agreed to pay Sporting £46million up front and an extra £8.5m in add-ons if specific conditions are met.
But he may not be the only new face to touch down at the club.
According to BBC Sport's Ian Dennis, Southend United goalkeeeper Bishop is close to making the move to the Red Devils.
"Manchester United are close to signing Southend United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop," he said on Twitter.

"The 20 year old has made 17 appearances for the League One club this season.
"Bishop is an England U20 International."
Southend boss Sol Campbell confirmed just yesterday that Bishop would be on the move - and United appear to be his next destination.
"He’s having a medical," said Campbell.
"I don’t know where but if he passes the medical he’s gone."

Man Utd urged to make five decisions before transfer deadline including two new signings
United signing Bishop, who is undoubtedly talented, seems a bit of a strange move.
The club have, however, seen David De Gea struggle for form this season.
The Spain international has looked a shadow of his best self and the Red Devils believe he needs genuine competition in order to improve.
Sergio Romero is a safe pair of hands but United aren’t willing to make him their first-choice goalkeeper.
And the likes of Joel Pereira and Dean Henderson are playing their football away from Old Trafford at the present time.
Pereira is on loan at Hearts and helped them beat Rangers 2-1 at the weekend.
Henderson, meanwhile, is spending the campaign at Sheffield United for the second year running.
As well as Bishop, United are looking at signing a striker.
PSG star Edinson Cavani was enquired about yet United believe he’d rather leave the Parc des Princes for Atletico Madrid instead.
AC Milan hitman Krzysztof Piatek, meanwhile, has also been linked but Tottenham appear frontrunners in that race.
