Edinson Cavani: Pundit discusses possible Chelsea transfer
Chelsea’s technical mentor Claude Makelele has already held discussions with Paris Saint-Germian over the potential signing of Edinson Cavani, reports have claimed. The Uruguayan striker could be available this month after losing his place to Mauro Icardi in the side.
Cavani has asked PSG to be granted an exit this month as he enters the final six months of his contract.
He is free to speak with other clubs but would prefer to seal a departure now as opposed to the end of the season after growing tired of sitting on the bench.

Lampard refused to rule out a move for Cavani when quizzed on whether he has been identified as a potential target.
"He's a great player; I played against him and always loved his mentality and attitude, and his scoring record speaks for itself," said Lampard.
"I'm not absolutely aware of what the situation is, so we'll see.
"The idea of bringing in experience is something I'm certainly not absolutely looking away from, because sometimes the young players need a little bit of help, and if that's the case then that may help us."
Lampard is looking to bolster his attack amid struggles in front of goal and both Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi could leave the club this month.

Chelsea lacked a goal threat in the last-gasp 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday and it looks like Lampard might now be weighing up a move for Cavani.
PSG have already rejected a formal offer of £8.5million from Atletico Madrid for the former Napoli striker.
The La Liga giants are desperate to land El Matador this month but will have to up their offer.
Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he don’t know whether Cavani will be in Paris next month.
PSG are said to be demanding closer to £17m in order to let him leave the club before the deadline.
