Arsenal: Wilfred Ndidi would 'suit' club says pundit
Mikel Arteta will want to replace Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira in the summer, says Aston Villa hero Gabriel Agbonlahor. Torreira has starred for Arsenal under Arteta since the Spaniard replaced Unai Emery as the club’s permanent head coach in December. The Uruguay star has started all four Premier League matches Arteta has managed.
Agbonlahor says Torreira is good enough for Arsenal at the moment, with Arteta unlikely to be able to make any permanent signings during this transfer window.
However, the former striker reckons Arteta will want to upgrade on the 23-year-old come the end of the season.
“I still don’t think he’s the player who is going to take Arsenal to that next step,” Agbonlahor told Stadium Astro.
“I think even Arteta will look at him and think ‘he can do a job now’ but maybe when the summer comes he might be looking for someone with more legs, someone better.

“But for now he’s looking at this team that he’s got now as the best team he’s possibly got that he can use.
“I think he is [suited to Arteta’s style] but Arteta being under Pep [Guardiola] at Man City will maybe want someone better on the ball, someone a bit more athletic.
“I think he is [good] for now but it’s because probably Arteta can’t go out and buy players in January, he might have to wait until the summer.
“So for the players he’s got available in that squad, I think Torreira’s the best option he’s got at the moment.”

Leicester midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was suggested to Agbonlahor as a possible signing for Arsenal.
Agbonlahor doubts Leicester would sell Ndidi now but says the Nigerian would definitely want to join the Gunners.
“Yeah [Ndidi would suit Arsenal], I think the way he’s been playing for Leicester, he’s got the legs in midfield, he can play the ball forward as well, he can win the ball back,” Agbonlahor added.
“But Leicester are doing better than Arsenal at the moment so they’re not going to sell their players.
