Man Utd: Solskjaer ‘desperately’ needs signings says Ogden
Manchester United want to sign both a defensive and an attacking midfielder before the end of the January transfer window, says Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol. United are yet to complete any business but are linked with a number of different targets. United want to sign Leicester star James Maddison though that deal looks unlikely to be done mid-season.
“Well Manchester United this month are looking at signing two midfielders,” Solhekol said on Sky Sports News.
“A defensive midfielder and an attacking No 10-type midfielder.
“It’s our understanding they’re interested in signing James Maddison but they are away that it is going to be very difficult to sign a player of Maddison’s quality in the January window.”
Solhekol says Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare is also a target of United in January.

“He’s described as a box-to-box midfielder, somebody has compared him to Paul Pogba.
“He’s got two-and-a-half years left on his contract at Lille but I think again it is going to be difficult for a club like Manchester United to sign him this month because so many clubs are interested in signing him.
“We’re being told that 20 scouts are watching him every time he plays for Lille.”
Last week United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed he was looking to bring in up to two players this month but did not say which position of the pitch he is targeting.
