Jordan Pickford wore jeans and tracksuit to his wedding after ruining wife’s £500k ring

Jordan Pickford is once again demonstrating why he's England's safest pair of hands at Euro 2024. Despite the countless issues surrounding Gareth Southgate's team, the Three Lions can take comfort in knowing they have a dependable last line of defence.

Currently competing in his fourth major tournament as England's first-choice goalkeeper, Pickford has managed to record two clean sheets in four matches in Germany. The Everton star made history in doing so, passing Peter Shilton's record with 11 clean sheets at major tournaments.

His wife Megan has been his biggest cheerleader by attending his matches, including the nervy 2-1 extra-time victory over Slovakia. And she has already arrived in east Germany ahead of the quarter-final clash with Switzerland.

Megan, 28, and Pickford, 30, have been dating since they were teenagers at school. They got married in March 2020 following the birth of their son, Arlo, in February 2019.

Megan, who frequently posts stylish photos for her thousands of Instagram followers, enjoys shopping at high-end stores and has even flown on private jets to games. She first announced their engagement during the 2018 World Cup when she posted a picture of herself praying during the nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out against Colombia, where a large ring was visible on her finger.

Pickford announced that Megan had given birth to baby Arlo in February 2019, posting a photo of a babygrow emblazoned with the words: "My daddy likes to... 'Get the rave on!'" He captioned it by saying he was "over the moon" and "couldn't be prouder".

Megan's dream of a lavish wedding, however, was dashed by the pandemic, forcing her to opt for a modest ceremony in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event was attended by only their son and five other guests.

Ever the maverick, Pickford turned up clad in a tracksuit, jeans and a baseball cap, while Megan chose a blouse paired with white fur. Their dream celebration finally came to fruition in March 2022, as they whisked away to the Maldives for a second wedding on an idyllic beach, surrounded by loved ones.

In May 2020, Megan took to Instagram to share: "We're getting married in the morning. Well we should have been! It's all gone a bit Pete Tong, so here's a throwback of us on our legal registry office day since there are bigger things going on in the world right now. You are worth the wait my love @jpickford1".

Their journey to matrimony wasn't smooth sailing from the start. Just a month before welcoming Arlo, they encountered another engagement mishap. Pickford invested in an extravagant diamond ring, reportedly valued around £500,000, but was left aghast when it became lodged on Megan's finger - a result of pregnancy-induced water retention.

Megan turned to Instagram to seek help from her followers after failing to remove the stuck ring using washing up liquid, butter and ice. She later revealed on social media that the ring had to be cut, saying: "We've been to the jewellers for the chop. Thanks so much everyone for the messages. I'll try and reply once I have feeling back in my fingers."

The arrival of their daughter, Ostara, in 2023 marked a smoother chapter for the family. Now living in a luxury £2.1million mansion in the affluent area known as Cheshire's 'Golden Triangle', their home boasts plush decor, a home cinema, a large garden, jacuzzi, and a nursery for their daughter.
