West Ham goalkeeper David Martin embraced his dad in tears after keeping a clean sheet in the Hammers' 1-0 win at Chelsea. Third-choice keeper Martin was named on the teamsheet by Manuel Pellegrini after a string of poor performances from Ricardo which culminated with his omission.

"I was struggling to eat for two days, Cressa [Ryan Cresswell] was laughing at me because my plate was taken away because I couldn't eat my food," he said.
First-choice goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is expected to be out of action until Boxing Day which leaves Martin the chance to take hold of the No 1 jersey in the meantime.
"I hope I've given myself a good chance but have to work hard and keep grounded," he said on nailing down the spot.

Martin was kept busy on Saturday afternoon as Chelsea came forward with wave after wave of attacks.
He made six saves during his display which nullified the Blues' firing front line - cancelling out their attack for only the second time this season in the league.
