Neville was responding to a tweet claiming that Lukaku would’ve become a great striker if he decided to stay at United.
“Hoped Lukaku would become a great MUFC striker, but he wasn’t playing in a great MUFC team,” said FourFourTwo Editor Andy Mitten.
“He started well, faded, then rightly lost his place and the confidence of a lot fans.
“He could’ve won it back, but it’s his career. Clearly a goalscorer. Good luck.”

Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, posted a photo on Instagram last night, showing him and Lukaku on a private jet, captioned: “Ready to take off. Direction Milano.”
It’s believed that Lukaku’s medical is set for 11am on Deadline Day.
Inter have been chasing the Belgian all summer, and he was Conte’s primary target during the transfer window.
Meanwhile, it the deal is completed, Everton will be owed £5m from the deal, as there was a sell-on clause in the deal the Toffees agreed with United two years ago.
