Man Utd: Woodward made 'huge error' with Solskjaer says Gray
Manchester United chief Woodward is desperate for Solskjaer to be an Old Trafford hit and, consequently, is working hard on transfers this summer.
The Norwegian has already landed two targets in the form of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who touched down from Swansea and Crystal Palace respectively.
Solskjaer is well-aware that Manchester United need more reinforcements, though, if they are to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for major honours next season.
That is Sean Longstaff, the Newcastle midfielder who has drawn comparisons with Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick.
United need at least one midfielder this summer to compensate for the loss of Ander Herrera to PSG.
Herrera’s move to the Parc des Princes was made official on Thursday, with the Spain international saying: "Paris St-Germain is the greatest club in France.
"It keeps on improving and competes to win every possible title. I hope to continue to make history with the club.
"I promise three things: work, professionalism and passion."
