The midfielder still has four years left on his current Arsenal deal, and the Gunners won’t be in any rush to listen to any offers.
But, Atletico are still expected to test the water over any talks regarding the 26-year-old.

The Gunners bought Xhaka from Borussia Moenchengladbach for £35m in 2016.
He’s since became a key player in Arsenal’s squad, and has worn the captains armband on a number of occasions.
Xhaka played in all of Arsenal’s biggest games in the Premier League last season, until he developed a groin injury.
They lost three of the six matches that he was forced to miss through the injury.
