Man Utd make Antoine Griezmann transfer decision after giving up on signing one player
MANCHESTER UNITED could make an audacious bid to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer after giving up on Jadon Sancho. The transfer would be a club-record signing, in excess of £100 million.
The French forward had been linked with La Liga champions Barcelona, but transfer talks appear to have stalled.
United may subsequently plot a huge transfer bid for Griezmann, after giving up on signing Jadon Sancho.
Sancho had been United’s top priority in the summer transfer window, according to reports. But, after they failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, they are believed to have given up on signing the England forward.
United could look to 28-year-old Griezmann to fill an attacking void
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to sign Sancho to kickstart the new era at Old Trafford, made up of young, exciting talent, it was claimed.
But, following an end-of-season slump in results, United ultimately finished sixth in the Premier League, and won’t have Champions League football at Old Trafford next season.
Instead, United could look to 28-year-old Griezmann to fill an attacking void.
But, any deal with Atletico will have to include a £107 million transfer fee, according to the Mirror.
They’re now 'actively pursuing' Antoine Griezmann. If the deal goes through, it’ll be a club-record signing.

Griezmann may be tempted by the move to Old Trafford as he could be the focal point of a squad rebuild.
He’s also a good friend of United midfielder Paul Pogba, which could provide an added attraction for the World Cup winner.
His brother, Theo Griezmann is a big United fan, and it’s believed that his support for the Premier League may also influence Antoine’s decision.
Barcelona was the likely destination for Griezmann, but doubts at the Nou Camp have increased over his long-term value.
