Manchester United chief Woodward pushed the boat out to sign Pogba back in the summer of 2016, paying Juventus a world-record fee of £89million to secure the player’s signature.
The World Cup winner has, however, struggled for consistency at Old Trafford - blowing hot and cold under managers Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
There is talk that Manchester United will face a fight to keep Pogba come the summer, with Real Madrid links refusing to go away.
Solskjaer has done his best to play down the transfer talk, yesterday insisting his No 6 would still be at the club next season.
