Sutton then took to Twitter to defend his prediction.
He tweeted: “If Celtic don’t bring quality in this January then with Defoe and Davis Rangers have an incredible opportunity... that’s the truth... these signings should kick Celtic into gear…”
Sutton also added more praise about the potential signings of Defoe and Davis, which are set to be completed this weekend.
“Defoe and Davis will improve Rangers and should be respected for their footballing ability,” he said.

“If Celtic don’t act it’s a massive risk... one striker who has been inconsistent isn’t enough... right back, left winger are areas I think Celtic need to strengthen in…”
Sutton also wrote in his Daily Record column that the additions have given the ‘Gers a major boost.
It’s safe to say it didn’t go down too well with Celtic supporters.
