ALEXIS SANCHEZ will be allowed to spend some time in Chile as Manchester United hold out hope he will be able to replicate his Arsenal form over at Old Trafford.

Alexis Sanchez has endured a torrid first year at Manchester United, managing to find the net just four times since moving to the club in a straight swap deal with Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Chile international is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, something Mourinho recently opened up about.
“There have been no scans yet. But the player is experienced, the player knows what the injury is and also from the top of my experience, just the painful scream and the way the injury happened, I know it’s going to be for a long time,” the Manchester United boss said.
“It is not the little muscular injury that in one week or 10 days the player is ready.

Whether it can spark an upturn in form, though, remains to be seen.
When at Arsenal, the United forward was at his blockbuster best when deployed in a No 9 role.
But, more often that not, Mourinho has opted against deploying him in that position.
Instead, Sanchez has spent the majority of this season shunted on the left wing, where he is currently behind Anthony Martial in the pecking order.
