Everton are keen to add a centre-back to their defensive ranks having shipped out Ramiro Funes Mori and Ashley Williams.
Barcelona’s Yerry Mina is their prime target with the La Liga giants open to doing business for the Colombian.
Manchester United have also been sniffing around Mina, who only joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in January.
And Silva could have to make a last-ditch bid for his back-up option if United steal Mina from under his nose.
Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma is on Everton’s radar with the transfer window slamming shut at 5pm on Thursday.
The Frenchman seems unlikely to get a look-in under Maurizio Sarri this season and Chelsea appear happy to loan him out again.

Everton are also considering their choices with snapping up a midfielder one of their objectives.
Zouma’s Chelsea team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko looks set to be a peripheral figure under Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
And Everton are eager to get him up to Merseyside within the next 24 hours to provide competition for the likes of Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin.
Meanwhile, Everton will be seeking to get off to a solid start in Silva’s first Premier League game in charge against Wolves on Saturday.
Playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has offered an insight into what’s been happening behind-the-scenes ahead of the Molineux clash.
"There are a lot of things he's been trying to bring in, in a short period of time," Sigurdsson told the Liverpool Echo.

"I've only been in a few weeks since Portugal but there's been a lot of stuff coming in from him in training and meetings but he's trying to bring in enjoyment, get us enjoying our football, pressing the other teams, working hard and to be organised defensively.
"I think we're getting there but we're giving away sloppy goals. We know that, we're talking about it in the dressing room.
"We haven't conceded too many goals where the team is playing through us, it's more silly mistakes and being sloppy which is costing us, but I don't think we're too far away.
"He didn't have to say anything [about the sloppy mistakes] after this game [Valencia] or the last game because that's pretty much all the goals we have conceded have come from our mistakes.
"In a sense, it might be a good thing because it's easy to rectify but we would be worrying if teams were playing through us easily and cutting us wide open.
"But I don't feel too bad when we get our shape and we are defending. As time goes on and the more we work on it with the manager we will be a lot better."
