ITV Good Morning Britain: Kate Garraway CUT OFF as Chuka Umunna rages over Chief Whip row
ITV GOOD MORNING BRITAIN presenter Kate Garraway entered into a heated debate with Labour MP Chuka Umunna on the breakfast programme today over the controversy surrounding Conservative party Chief Whip Julian Smith and Chairman Brandon Lewis.

This week has seen Chief Whip Smith under serious pressure to explain why an MP took part in crunch Brexit votes, despite priorly agreeing not to.
Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson was on maternity leave at the time, and she had a “pairing” with Lewis.
Now the Labour Party MP has called for Smith to resign for undermining trust in the system.
Umunna wasn’t shy about his feelings on the issue on Good Morning Britain, claiming several MPs have said the issue “wasn’t a mistake”.
Launching into a tirade against the Tory party, Umunna then refused to let journalists Kate, 51, and Charlotte Hawkins, 43, get a word in edgeways on the ITV breakfast show.
Kate attempted to clarify the situation as Umunna continued his rant.
“Several MPs said it isn’t a mistake,” the politician declared.
“Ok that’s…” Kate tried, but Umunna carried on.
Finally managing to get to the point, the host then asked: “Do you think he should resign then?”
Umunna declared: “Yes I think he should resign.
Yes I think he should resign
“At the moment I think his career is hanging on. If he doesn’t resign today mark my words it will happen on Monday. Because he can’t be allowed to get away with it.”
Eventually, Kate managed to make a swift shift onto Former Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Iain Duncan Smith, 64.
As the presenter asked him to weigh in on the debate, Duncan Smith simply chuckled at the tense discussion.
“I’m astonished there were any pairing arrangements allowed,” he admitted.
“At the very least it’s pretty incompetent,” Umunna added.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
