This Morning guest SNAPS at Ruth Langsford in VERY heated female pilot row ‘Get a grip!’
THIS MORNING was the scene of a heated argument today as the show discussed a very controversial issue.
Woman reveals she doesn't feel 'comfortable' with female pilots
The debate saw one guest bite back at presenter Ruth Langsford when she took her to task on ITV’s This Morning.
The moment came as Ruth, 57, and fellow host Eamonn Holmes were discussing the question of whether female pilots should be trusted in their job.
A guest on the show, Angela Epstein, said she was shocked to learn after a recent flight that her pilot had been a woman, which was the centre of the debate.
“I felt more comfortable [with a man],” she told the hosts. “Because I know my frailties and weaknesses as a woman, while I’m sure they are incredibly professional, I know what I’m like when I drive, when I’m feeling pre-menstrual.“

I want to be rescued by a man, not by a woman
Angela explained that her worries lie in the fact that women could be prone to mood swings, affecting their ability to do their job.
Ruth went on to question: “Do you think there are a lot of people who still have this misconception that they’re safer with a man flying?”
Angela looked less than impressed and quickly swiped back: “I didn’t say it was less safe. I said I felt less comfortable. I want to be rescued by a man, not by a woman.”
The discussion also featured a female pilot, Marnie Munns, in the discussion, and those watching at home were furious that Angela dominated the conversation.

This Morning: Marnie didn't take Angela's comments to heart
“Gawd that ginger women not letting the pilot get a word in #ThisMorning,” one viewer wrote.
Another said: “@thismorning the journalist needs to get a grip and let the female pilot get a word in edgeways. #ThisMorning #pilots”
“Imagine if she shut her mouth and actually let the pilot speak #thismorning,” a third added.
However, the pilot didn’t seem to be too rattled by the comments as she remained calm throughout.
This Morning: Viewers did not take kindly to Angela's view
“We’re highly trained individuals, we go through the same process as men,” she explained.
Eamonn then questioned how she viewed Angela’s feelings: “Do you see her as nervous rather than sexist?”
“Yes, I would,” Marnie retorted.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
