Doctor Who fans divided over first female Time Lord Jodie Whittaker: 'PC gone mad'
DOCTOR WHO has finally announced Peter Capaldi's replacement as Jodie Whittaker following months of speculation.
Jodie Whittaker is revealed as first female Doctor Who
The 35-year-old Broadchurch star will play the first female Time Lord on the sci-fi show and will debut this Christmas.
However, fans are split on the decision after all 12 former Doctor Who actors where played by male leads.
One happy viewer tweeted: “VERY happy with the casting of Jodie Whittaker as the #13Doctor - great actress who will give the show a huge refresh #excited #doctorwho.”
“So the #DoctorWho13 #13thDoctor is Jodie Whittaker. Considering how great Missy was I'm really looking forward to her #DoctorWho,” posted another, as a third giggled: “I think the BBC just broke the internet #DoctorWho #Doctor13.”
