Writer Debbie Horsfield admitted Morwenna Chynoweth (played by Ellise Chappell) and Drake Carne (Harry Richardson) will become the “innocent causalities” of the BBC drama.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, she opened up about what viewers can expect from the two newcomers, who have spent their first two episodes making eyes at each other.
Actor Harry commented: “It’s a long journey for the two of them, they do start off quite innocent and head-over-heels, before a lot of things are thrown their way.”
Debbie continued: “They inadvertently get mixed up in the Warleggen/Poldark feud… you know [something will happen] the moment Ross is saying, ‘We’re never going to speak to each other again’.”
