A Place in the Sun fans fume at 'awful' property as buyer says 'couldn't live here'

A Place in the Sun guest Annie was less than impressed as she viewed a property in Lanzarote and made it clear she wouldn't be able to live in one of the homes.

APITS: Guest says she 'couldn't live' in property

A guest on Channel 4's A Place in the Sun struggled to hide her lacklustre reaction to a Spanish property presented to her. On Friday's episode, host Lee Juggurnauth was at it again, aiding another hopeful Brit keen on the Spanish sun. Annie sought rejuvenation in Lanzarote and brought granddaughter Mollie for support.

Despite liking the first three properties, Annie's enthusiasm waned at the fourth house. Disenchanted by its modesty, and specifically the compact kitchen and bedrooms, Annie remarked after viewing: "I couldn't see myself living here," and critiqued the kitchen for being "too small".

"There is lots of storage space in here, I suppose the only other thing to consider is if this were my bedroom, it is open to the rest of the place and then of course, the bathroom is up here as well," she said trying to see the positives.

"I think I'd much rather have somewhere more private," she explained before sharing her disappointment: "It is a shame because the location is so good, isn't it? But it is not the right place, I can't see myself (living) here."

Viewers also agreed with Annie with many branding the two-bedroom dwelling as "awful". One viewer posted: "Don't blame them. That one was b****y horrible," reports the Mirror.

Others chimed in with comments like "Pokey, no privacy, awful" and "A load of c**p properties today, in a c**p location."

Meanwhile, another quipped: "Good job she hasn't got a cat. Couldn't swing one in that kitchen."

The episode wrapped with Annie declining to make offers. Yet, some watchers expressed broader disapproval of the entire area.

Viewers have been voicing their opinions on the popular property show, with one commenting: "I wonder if #aplaceinthesun will ever discover that Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca, and Costa Teguise are not the only places in Lanzarote. Most of the island is rural and not resorty at all." (sic)

Another viewer was less than impressed with their visit, stating: "I went to Playa Blanca in 2019. Not a fan."

And yet another added their two cents, saying: "Lanzarote always makes me think of the surface of the moon! Definitely not for me."

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
