BBC Breakfast: Nina Warhurst's son reads the autocue

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were joined by a special guest on Friday morning. Their co-star Nina Warhurst brought one of her children in to sit alongside her while speaking about a segment on dementia.

Beaming, Nina introduced her son Michael to viewers who smiled with delight at being on the show. Curious, Naga asked if he had been on the sofa before.

Although at first he said he had, he quickly replied no as Nina shook her head. Naga asked: "Can you see yourself in the cameras?"

Watching himself, the BBC star joked it would keep him occupied as Nina spoke about her interview with Sir Alex Ferguson about dementia.

During their chat, her son sat in his Manchester United football shirt, showing off his signed image of the former manager.

Naga asked what it was like when he got the signed image as he replied: "really, really happy." Nina added her son also asked whether or not it was real as he was in disbelief.

While Nina opened up about her personal connection to dementia, with her dad being diagnosed with the disease, her son gave a big yawn.

She joked: "He's yawning, sorry I do talk a lot don't I?"

Giving a nod in agreement, Nina burst into laughter as Naga replied: "You said it!"

As their chat started to come to an end, Charlie added: "Should we see if Michael can throw to the break better than his mum?"

Nina confessed there were a lot of people who could read the autocue better than her as her son tried to find the right camera to look into.

Telling Nina to get out of the shot, her son read the upcoming segment as he said: "Time now to get the news travel and weather where you are."

The presenters gave him a round of applause as Charlie commented: "Good job." It wasn't long before viewers took to Twitter to comment on the Michael's debut.
