During the latest episode, presenter Richard Osman asked the four pairs to name any of the flags on the board, which remain the same when turned upside down.
The 46-year-old explained: "We're going to show you 15 flags that are the same upside down, if you rotate them 180 degrees."
Co-host Alexander Armstrong added that the flags were "vertically symmetrical".
Some of the nations represented on the board included Jamaica, Japan, Israel, the Republic of Macedonia and the United Kingdom.

We're going to show you 15 flags that are the same upside down
However, those watching at home argued that the Union Jack, the flag of the United Kingdom, does not look the same when rotated 180 degrees.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: "@richardosman this flag round on @tvspointless, surely Union flag is not the same upside down? #pointless."
"Since when is the Union Flag the same upside down? Diagonals would be reversed bottom to top. @TVsPointless #pointless," another complained.
Pointless viewers took to Twitter to report the "mistake"
Pointless co-host Alexander Armstrong confusingly described the flags as "vertically symmetrical"
While a third said: "#Pointless - The Union Flag doesn't belong in this round. It is not exactly the same upside down - That's a sign of distress @BBCPointlessTV."
"Shame on the bbc the uk flag is not the same upside down #pointless #bbc," a fourth outraged person tweeted.
The Union Jack does look the same if it is rotated 180 degrees, however, because of the position of the diagonal stripes, it is incorrect to say it is symmetrical.
Pointless airs weekdays at 5.15pm on BBC One.
