THE first trailer for Westworld, the highly anticipated new drama from HBO and Sky Atlantic, has finally arrived and promises a beautifully twisted ride.

Sir Anthony Hopkins stars in the first terrifying trailer for Westworld
The dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin boasts one of the most impressive cast lists on television.
Starring Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan and Simon Quarterman, the 10-part series is inspired by the Michael Crichton film of the same name.
Jonathan Nolan will serve as executive prodder alongside Crichton, Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk and Lisa Joy.

The original film starring Yul Brynner was released back in 1973 and followed the story of a robot malfunction which causes devastation for unsuspecting visitors at an adult-themed amusement park.
Its television successor teases a bleaker yet equally stunning vision of the future.
The 10-part series also stars Thandie Newton, Ed Harris and James Marsden
Westworld arrives on screens this October
The first trailer debuted on American screens last night during the ninth episode of Game of Thrones season six, titled The Battle of The Bastards, and has already created a huge buzz among fans on Twitter.
"Harris. Hopkins. Marsden. Newton. Santoro. Wood. Wright. With a cast like THAT, October will be a BLAST!" wrote one particular enthusiastic social media user.
Another followed: "New trailer for @HBO's #Westworld is tantalizing. I want it now."
Westworld will premiere in October on HBO in the US, and will air in the UK on Sky Atlantic.
