Marco Polo season 2: Explosive full trailer reveals ‘power has a price'
THE full trailer for Marco Polo’s long-awaited second season has been revealed ahead of its Netflix return next month.

Lorenzo Richelmy’s central character is seen appearing to be on surprisingly good terms with one-time captor Kublai Khan (Benedict Wong), setting the pace for an action-packed batch of episodes.
"Marco Polo, I conscript you into the order of the Mongol Knights," Khan declares at one point in the promo.
He, however, has his own problems - as he learns that there’s a new arrival challenging his claim to the throne.

July 1 is the big date for the new run
The two-minute-long clip also promises “the greatest battle”, as various scenes of war - including one glimpse of horses on fire - pepper the clip.
“Power has a price,” the text declares, over Lana Del Rey-style haunting music.
Marco Polo proved a hit with viewers back when its first season debuted in 2014, but was met by largely negative reviews - earning a modest 24% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, Netflix has a policy of never releasing any viewing figures, so its official ratings numbers will be kept under wraps.
The programme was created by Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Fusco with co-showrunner Dan Minaha, and is one of the streaming service’s most expensive ventures; with the first run allegedly costing a total of around $90 million.
Marco Polo returns to Netflix on July 1.
