Top Gear's Sabine Schmitz in SEXISM storm as she turns up to launch in racy outfit
SHE'S the first female Top Gear star in 15 years and Sabine Schmitz definitely made sure all the attention was on her at the BBC motoring show's launch event - however, not for all the right reasons.
Sabine Schmitz wore a Bavarian outfit to the Top Gear launch
The 46-year-old caused chaos online and found herself at the centre of a sexism storm, after she turned up to the Liverpool bash wearing a racy Bavarian barmaid outfit.
It was thought that BBC bosses were eager to move away from the Jeremy Clarkson era, after the controversial presenter was famously sacked over a "fracas" with a producer.
However, fans have now hit out at the motoring show once again, with one person saying: “I thought the idea was to go away from the sexist regime under Jeremy Clarkson.
“But at first glance it doesn’t appear like a lot has changed."

Despite fans of the show criticising bosses, a source insisted that Sabine picked her own outfit for the event.
They said: "All new Top Gear is truly an international affair so Sabine wanted to inject some fun into proceedings in front of an audience of global TV Executives."
Although Top Gear will not be returning to screens until May, viewers have already said that they're not impressed with the new series.
New line-up has had a mixed reaction from fans
New Top Gear team was announced earlier this month
One person shared on Twitter: "I don't get why the bbc are even bothering with a new series of top gear it's gonna to fail and won't be the same #topgear"
Despite fans debating whether or not Top Gear can work without the original trio - Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - Chris Evans is "delighted" with the new line-up.
The complete team was announced earlier this month, with Eddie Jordan, Sabine, Rory Reid and Chris Harris joining Chris, Matt LeBlanc and The Stig on the newly revamped series.
