LORD ALAN SUGAR and Piers Morgan shared what viewers have called “the most awkward hug in TV history” after sparring on Good Morning Britain today.

The arch rivals, who regularly bicker on Twitter, traded light insults for the majority of their much-hyped interview, before Piers put an arm around his enemy.
Lord Sugar had joked: “He insults me on Twitter but there’s actually a certain camaraderie on there: I look after him.
“When people say, ‘you’re not fit to live with the pigs’, I say, ‘no, stop it’, because he is.”
Then, when reminded of the time he fired Piers from the celebrity version of The Apprentice, the 68-year-old said: “I set a trend because, at that time, there was only one person that had fired him.

“Since then there have been a few others.”
Piers offered a hug, however, saying: “Underneath this gruff exterior, he’s a little cuddly bear.”
“No way did Piers Morgan just hug Lord Sugar, oh my god,” one viewer said on Twitter, while Piers retweeted a GIF of Harry Potter characters Draco Malfoy and Lord Voldemort embracing, adding: “Most awkward hug in tv history since this”.
They appeared together later in the show, too, with Sugar reeling off a list of things he thought he knew Piers would drag up - including the fact he had plastic surgery around his eyes.

Piers then gifted him with a cushion emblazoned with his face, to which Sugar said: “Funnily enough, I’ve got haemorrhoids.”
Rounding off the segment, Piers said: “I’d like to wish you a very happy Christmas. The only saving grace is you have the nicest wife in the world [and] The Apprentice is one of the best shows on TV.”
The Apprentice final airs Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
