Coronation Street: Viewers rejoice as David Platt returns to his evil ways
WE ALL knew it was only a matter of time but finally David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) is back to dark and devious ways in tonight's episode of Coronation Street.
David Platt has words with Sarah-Louise on Coronation Street
Up until now viewers even felt a little bit sorry for David as he tried to keep it together in the aftermath of Callum Logan's (Sean Ward) murder, while his half-sister Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien) fell apart and nearly went to the police to confess all.
In tonight's episode, the audience witnessed as David got nasty and wanted to bundle his sibling back off to Milan and out of harm's way. He got scary as he threatened her - and Coronation Street fans tuning in to watch were loving his psychotic behaviour and they were quick to take to social media and share their adulation.
Mel Hemmings posted on Twitter: "David platt you menace! (I love it!) #corrie #plattmafia", while Maggie Hodgson agreed, simply writing: "Loving Bad David #Corrie!"
Daniel Jenks hailed the return of the villain: "#Corrie This is classic David Platt." Another user called Latoya Wilson too was impressed by the character's dark side: "David's evil charm made a comeback in tonight's ep #corrie #coronationstreet."

As well as praise for "evil" David, there was also support for his extreme actions with Claire-a-Belle saying: "I'm on David's side here! Totally! You do whatever it takes... #Corrie."
David Gibson tweeted: "#David will go to any lengths to protect his family. #Corrie @JackPShepherd88."
With bad boy drug dealer Callum dead and buried underneath the Platt family home, there was again space for David to let himself go back to the dark side.
David's behaviour does not look like it will be changing any time soon unless he is certain that Sarah-Louise isn't going to be spilling the beans any time soon.
Coronation Street continues on ITV on Wednesday at 7.30pm
