Pick of the day: The World’s Weirdest Weather
9pm, Channel 4
Telly weatherman Alex Beresford explores the strange weather patterns associated with fire, such as lightning that is created in volcanic explosions, and raging bush fires called firestorms.
He also looks at how lightning storms rage on planets millions of miles from Earth. Beresford hears remarkable accounts from people who have survived lightning strikes and travels to Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela, the world’s lightning capital, where there are thousands of spectacular strikes every night.
