Pick of the day: The Genius of Josiah Wedgwood
9pm, BBC2
THE historian and author AN Wilson has a special relationship with Wedgwood (above), one of the founding fathers of the Industrial Revolution.
Having grown up in the Potteries, Wilson visited the Wedgwood factory, where his father was the managing director, every Saturday.
Now he tells the story of the self-taught creative giant who just wanted to make beautiful objects and leave the world a more beautiful place.
But if he wasn’t so celebrated for his pottery, Wedgwood’s other achievements might be far better known.
