GMB halted for Meghan and Harry news as Kate Garraway issues announcement
The programme was cut to show Harry and Meghan arriving in Melbourne.

The Good Morning Britain news programme was cut abruptly as Kate Garraway brought the updates on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's tour in Australia.
The couple landed on Tuesday to kick off their four-day tour in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. The morning programme was halted to show footage of Meghan and Harry getting off a vehicle as presenter Kate said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now arrived in Melbourne, where they were minutes away at 6:00, weren't they? And they are embarking on a four-day tour across Australia.

She continued: "The couple are currently visiting a homeless women's shelter right now, that also helps people who have suffered family violence.
"Earlier, Harry and Meghan visited a children's hospital. It's their first time visiting the country since shortly after they got married in 2018."
According to a statement provided to the media, Prince Harry is scheduled to attend engagements linked to veterans and mental health, as well as delivering a keynote address at the InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit in Melbourne. Meghan will take part in a separate wellness-focused event in Sydney, where she is expected to headline a multi-day retreat.

Viewers commented online and expressed their thoughts on the couple's 'faux royal tour'. One said: "So if they are travelling as private citizens, why doesn't the media let them be exactly that. Or was an itinerary given by them so they could be photographed and be like working royals?"
A second wrote: "Another free to make the useless appear useful."
And a third questioned: "Private citizens? Really with their slick PR team setting embargoes to the Australian press in their own country. Private citizens... really!!"
