Scott Mills sacked by BBC Radio 2 after 'personal conduct' complaint
The veteran broadcaster has interviewed all the greats.

Scott Mills has been sacked from his BBC Radio 2 job over his "personal conduct". The 53-year-old was reportedly taken off-air last Tuesday after an allegation was handed to the Beeb about his behaviour, according to The Mirror. Sources then claimed he was sacked at the weekend – less than a year after taking over the main breakfast show from Zoe Ball in 2025.
The BBC said in a statement: "While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC.” The Mirror reports that staff are "shell-shocked" by the axe, with director of music Lorna Clarke telling employees: "I wanted to personally let you know that Scott Mills has left the Breakfast show, and the BBC. I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock.

"Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programmes on R1, 5Live, R2 and TV. I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity."
She added: "Of course, it will also come as a shock to our audience and loyal breakfast show listeners too. I will update everyone with more information on plans for the show when I'm able to. While I appreciate many of you will have questions, I hope you can understand that I am not going to be saying anything."
Mills was earning a salary between £355,000 and £359,999 from the public broadcaster.
He has interviewed huge stars over the years including Robbie Wiliams, Ryan Gosling, Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift.

Upon replacing Zoe Ball on her show, he originally said in a statement: “I can’t thank you enough for how lovely you all were when I took over from Steve (Wright), and I know that you’re going to extend that love to Trevor Nelson.
"Honestly, I can't wait to start with you every morning."
And Zoe also praised him, gushing: “Scott and I go way back to our Radio 1 days, when he was doing early mornings before me. He’s been a close friend for years, and I’m beyond thrilled it’s him taking over the Breakfast Show.
“Breakfast has always been his dream. He’s not only a blooming brilliant producer but one of the best in radio. I can’t wait to tune in on the school run!”
