Netflix fans have exact same response as live action Scooby-Doo cast announced
Netflix has announced the cast for its upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series, but fans noticed one glaring omission from the line-up.

Netflix has revealed the four leading actors set to embody the legendary characters Shaggy, Daphne, Fred and Velma in its forthcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series.
Billed as a contemporary reinterpretation of the popular franchise, Netflix's version will delve into how the detective gang initially united to form Mystery Incorporated.
The yet-to-be-named series will track close pals Shaggy and Daphne as they enjoy one final summer at camp. However, they soon find themselves embroiled in a mystery involving a puppy who seems to have witnessed a supernatural murder.
This evening (March 18), the principal cast members were announced as Mckenna Grace (Scream 7) taking on the role of Daphne Blake; Tanner Hagen (The Pitt) as Shaggy Rogers; Abby Ryder Fortson (Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret) as Velma Dinkley and Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) as Fred Jones.
Following the unveiling of the cast, a wave of Netflix enthusiasts were quick to note that the eponymous character, the Great Dane Scooby-Doo, was missing from the line-up, reports the Mirror.

"Who's playing Scooby?" queried one, whilst another asked: "Where is the dog?"
Others were simply impressed by the cast selection, with one optimistic fan commenting: "That's a strong line-up. Feels like they've gone for a younger, fresh cast, could bring a new vibe to Scooby-Doo if they get the chemistry right."
Meanwhile, another viewer, noting the striking resemblance between the cast and original cartoon, remarked: "No way... you guys actually brought the characters to life .. I'm shocked."

Another enthused: "Okay but can we talk about how this Scooby-Doo cast is actually perfect? Mckenna Grace is basically born to play Daphne Blake and Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma is a 10/10 choice."
They went on to say: "People are already complaining but this looks way better than that HBO Velma disaster we all try to forget. If Netflix sticks to the 'Scooby-Doo: Origins' vibe and keeps it spooky like Stranger Things this could be the best reboot in years."
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! first graced screens in the late 1960s, chronicling a group of teenagers who unravel supernatural mysteries with the assistance - and occasionally obstruction - of their Great Dane.
It has since sparked numerous reboots and spin-offs, including the most recent, HBO's Velma, which started airing in 2023.
A release date for Netflix's Scooby Doo series is yet to be announced.
