Moment Donald Trump attacks Keir Starmer live on TV with savage nine words
The US president made his feelings clear.

US President Donald Trump has taken a savage swipe at Sir Keir Starmer as he mocked him over his blocking of the use the UK base in Diego Garcia to bomb Iran, describing him as "no Winston Churchill". Speaking live in the Oval Office Trump told reporters: "I’m not happy with the UK. That island. He made a lease of the island. Somebody came and took it away from him. And it’s taken 3 or 4 days for us to work out where we can land. It would have been much more convenient landing there, as opposed to flying so many extra hours. So we are very surprised. This is not Winston Churchill that we’re dealing with," he said.
Trump was referencing the Prime Minister's refusal to allow American jets to use the Chagos Islands to strike Iran. He was sitting in front of a bust of Churchill as he made the remarks and he is known to have a huge respect for the wartime Prime Minister.

His comments come just hours after the Prime minister confirmed that the HMS Dragon, a Navy frigate, was being deployed to the region.
It is expected to arrive next week. RAF bases located on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus have been struck by Iranian Shahed drones, but the Prime Minister has so far only committed to defence action to protect British interests in the region.
Meanwhile French President Emmanuel Macron has already ordered France’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its strike group to redeploy from the Baltic Sea.
Starmer is under growing pressure over his slow response to the Iran crisis and his lack of support for US air strikes.

On Sunday night, an Iranian drone hit the runway at RAF Akrotiri, a crucial UK air base on Cyprus, although officials said that it caused minimal damage.
A further two drones bound for the base were intercepted on Monday as Tehran launched a series of counter-attacks across the region in response to the US air strikes.
In a statement posted on social media site X, Sir Keir said: “The UK is fully committed to the security of Cyprus and British military personnel based there.
“We’re continuing our defensive operations and I’ve just spoken with the President of Cyprus to let him know that we are sending helicopters with counter drone capabilities and HMS Dragon is to be deployed to the region.
