Moment Piers Morgan’s guest storms off set during explosive Charlie Kirk row
The 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was shot dead at an Arizona rally last week, and his death has sparked debate online
Cornel West storms off live on air on Piers Morgan Uncensored
Piers Morgan certainly caused a stir during his latest instalment of Uncensored as one guest stormed out of a live debate about the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. The right-wing political activist’s assassination last week sparked an ongoing discussion about the rise in political violence.
On Monday (September 15), the former Good Morning Britain host welcomed Jack Posobiec, Ana Kasparian, Andrew Wilson, and Dr Cornel West onto the programme to discuss the growing issue on air. Piers began the discussion by pointing out the rhetoric of the “woke left” when describing President Donald Trump holds some blame.

He began: “There is little doubt to me that the constant rhetoric on the left, the woke left – let me be specific to where I think a lot of the blame lies. Ever since Donald Trump came into power in 2016, there has been this relentless use of phrases like, ‘Hitler’, ‘Nazis’, ‘fascists’ about Trump and about Trump supporters.”
He added that this repeated opinion in the media over the past nine years has slipped into the minds of impressionable young minds, convincing people it’s their responsibility to prevent America from falling to supposed modern-day Nazis, fascists or another Hitler. He claimed that this mindset contributed to the violent assassination on Charlie Kirk.
“Do you agree that this language, this relentless, in my view woeful misuse, particularly of the word ‘Nazi’, towards Trump and his supporters, is part of the problem?” he asked West.
He replied: “Well, I think part of the deeper problem though, brother Pierce, is that organised greed and weaponised hatred and routinised indifference toward the vulnerable has come together in such a way that it has eroded the sources of character formation, so that integrity, honesty, decency, and self-critical sensibilities in of individuals is more and more disappearing.”

West went on to argue that hatred is “promiscuous” in that it can be found among any group or political ideology, but argued the current environment is one where such qualities have become lethal.
It was at this point that fellow panelist and Whatever podcast co-host Andrew Wilson challenged West, accusing him of referring to Trump’s administration as a neo-fascist movement.
West replied: “Yes indeed, you’re absolutely right” before chaos ensued with both guests shouting over each other. As things became heated, West argued that he should be able to make his case on the show.
When Wilson argued that people sharing the opinion like this are what got Kirk killed, West snapped back by denying the accusation, arguing that “there are such a thing of neo-fascists".

West then turned against Morgan, arguing that the host was more interested in making money with his panel rather than having a structured debate because he allowed the guests to interrupt one another.
He went on to state that he sees Charlie Kirk as having been made in the image of God just like any other human being as he objected to how the discussion was being handled.
West fumed: “It’s a joke, man! It’s not worth it!” as he stood up from his seat. When he was challenged further about accusations of neo-fascism, West replied by citing Kirk’s criticism of the legacy of the Civil Rights Act and his criticism of Martin Luther King Jr. Before he stormed off set.
After he left, Morgan said that it is “farcical to quit a debate where we’re literally debating about the importance of free speech and being able to listen to each other’s opinions.”
It didn’t take long before viewers flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their comments on the explosive scenes online. One user penned: "You have to let people talk otherwise it's a pointless exercise" as another agreed: "I cannot watch these shout-orgies - I find it physically repulsive."
A third suggested: "You need a mute button and use it. Allowing people to constantly cut off each other really does ruin the show so many times." Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in with: "No one on this show is actually debating ideas ever, it's just always yelling. Y'all figured out yet that Piers is just the 2025 version of Jerry Springer?"
