BBC Breakfast Naga Munchetty calls out co-star live on air

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty found herself issuing an apology to her co-star on Thursday morning.

During the show, weather presenter Carol Kirkwood informed viewers about what they could expect to see in the coming days.

She stated that on Friday, there would be rain at the start of the day and clear up towards the afternoon, with highs that could reach 25 degrees in some areas.

As she finished off her segment, Naga said: "I like your numbers, Carol." Awkwardly thanking her, Naga and Charlie Stayt burst out laughing in the studio.

She quipped: "That sounded a bit sinister, didn't it?! Sorry, Carol."

The weather star found the ordeal equally funny as she told Naga and Charlie: "It did you know, what's coming next?"

Acting ominous, Naga commented: "Ah, we have another hour together, we shall see."

On-screen viewers saw Carol put her hands over her eyes, jokingly in anticipation of what was to come.

Earlier on in the programme, the pair enjoyed another hilarious moment together after a discussion about the viral footage of a nun beatboxing on the Portuguese TV channel Pai Eterno.

After being impressed by the beatboxing, Naga was quick to put the challenge to Carol.

Handing over to the weather, she said: "The thing is, if Carol could just do that when the weather is slightly dull, it would just make it so much better for this programme."

In agreement, Charlie added: "To be fair, Carol, I think Naga is talking about dancing. I'd be content with a bit of beatboxing if you could do that?"

Rising to the challenge, Carol put her clicker to her mouth like a microphone and began her impromptu rap.

Putting her hand on her hip, she began: "Today's going to wet across many parts of the country."

Although she stopped midway and burst out laughing while Charlie and Naga could be heart giving her a round of applause in the studio.

Carol quipped: "I can't do it, I'm going to stick to the day job!"

BBC Breakfast is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
