Loose Women: Coleen's brother Brian on his cancer diagnosis
Coleen Nolan's brother, Brian Nolan, has bravely shared his prostate cancer diagnosis on television, delivering a powerful message to the public.
The 70 year old, who is grieving the loss of his sister Linda Nolan to pneumonia in January, appeared on ITV's Loose Women to discuss his condition and the importance of regular checks.
In an emotional segment aired on Monday (March 24), Brian Nolan highlighted the significance of cancer screening, stating: "The word cancer is no longer a death sentence, most cancers are treated but the key is please please please have your PSA once a year and we're going to start a campaign."
He emphasised the lack of symptoms for men and the absence of notifications for testing, advocating for annual tests: "The problem really is there is no notification for men, there are no symptoms really. What we are suggesting is getting notifications when it is time for your test and one test a year will do it."
Brian Nolan stressed the potential life-saving impact of early detection: "If there is any issues in the PSA, they can treat it and there is ten stages to go so what you're going is potentially saving your life."

During the show, he also recounted the devastating moment he received his cancer diagnosis following issues with his bladder and subsequent blood tests, reports Belfast Live.
After receiving his biopsy results, he recounted the chilling moment: "'I've got cancer'. The doctor confirmed 'yes you've got cancer.' It's just something in your life you really don't want to hear. I was completely speechless. My wife was with me, she broke down a little bit."
Amidst this personal battle, Coleen lauded her brother for how admirably he managed their sister Linda's passing while grappling with his own illness. He disclosed his desire to conceal his condition so that the family could concentrate on mourning Linda.

The Nolan clan has been repeatedly touched by cancer. Alongside the loss of Linda, they also grieved for Bernie who succumbed to breast cancer in 2003; meanwhile, Bernie and Coleen have encountered their respective battles with the illness.
In the year 2023, Coleen bravely shared her diagnosis with skin cancer, revealing her ongoing treatments for carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-melanoma on her face.
Elsewhere in the family, Anne had initially fought off breast cancer in 2000, only for it to re-emerge two decades later. Thankfully, she's recently declared herself free from cancer.
