ITV GMB's Richard Madeley shot down by guest after 'ridiculous' Trump question
Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley wanted to find out what Donald Trump was 'really' like ahead of the US President's inauguration.

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley landed himself in a bit of hot water today as he was bashed for asking a "ridiculous" question about Donald Trump. He and Susanna Reid were at the helm of the ITV show when they were discussing the newly-elected President's inauguration.
Together the co-hosts welcomed on a friend of the American politician and businessman, Damian Bates, to find out what he is "really like". That was when Richard chimed in to ask about Trump's diet.
He asked: "Is it true that he eats virtually nothing but McDonalds?" Susanna burst out laughing in hysterics while the guest appeared to be completely flabbergasted for a moment before chuckling himself.
Trump's friend, Damian, responded: "What a bizarre question! No, that's not true.
"He loves a good steak, he loves shrimp. He loves various things. I mean he does love a McDonalds, that's true, but no, he eats all kinds of things." He laughed before adding: "That is a very Richard Madeley question!"

Susanna then asked a bit more about Trump's lifestyle choices as she asked about whether or not he drinks alcohol. She quizzed: "Can I ask is it true that he's never had an alcoholic drink? You've had dinner with him numerous times."
The friend replied: "Yeah. I've had dinner with him in the White House and have been offered wine, but never taken it as a mark of respect for the man. No, he doesn't drink alcohol."
Damian went on to explain the tragic reason as to why the US President doesn't like a boozy drink as he said: "We have to remember, one of his brothers - I think it was Fred - tragically passed away. He was an alcoholic so there's a real danger there."

While the interview went on, fans online still could not get over Richard's question about McDonalds. Posting to X/Twitter, many shared how baffled they were.
One wrote: "'Is it true that he only eats McDonald’s?' Holy s**t, even for Richard Medley, that was ridiculous. @GMB." Another echoed: "Is it true he eats nothing but McDonalds? FFS Richard. #GMB."
A third added: "Richard and Susanna asking questions you’d expect at a children’s holiday club #gmb."
