Ed Balls makes outfit plea to Andi Peters on Good Morning Britain

Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls couldn't resist a cheeky jibe at co-star Andi Peters during the latest episode of the ITV breakfast show.

The 57-year-old former politician was on presenting duty on Thursday (July 11) alongside Kate Garraway, waking up the nation with the thrilling news that England have secured their place in the Euro 2024 final.

During the show, they caught up with Andi, 53, who had the enviable task of sharing the latest competition details live from the Love Island villa in sunny Mallorca.

However, it wasn't long before Ed took a playful dig at Andi's wardrobe choice. On Wednesday's (July 10) episode, Andi sported a vibrant co-ord shirt and shorts set.

Before engaging with Andi, Ed quipped about his outfit: "Let's hope it was better than yesterday.", reports the Mirror.

Andi, donning a red vest for the day, jokingly took offence to Ed's comment before eagerly discussing his experience in the famous villa, currently housing the remaining contestants of the ITV2 dating show.

This follows regular presenter Susanna Reid's announcement that she will be taking a break from the show until September, although viewers "may" catch a glimpse of her over the next few months.

She broke the news at the end of Wednesday's episode, reassuring co-host Ed that he was in the "good hands" of the GMB team, including Charlotte Hawkins.

Susanna announced her departure for a break with a heartfelt message to viewers, stating: "I'm going to say goodbye because it's now time for me to go off on a break, which means I say goodbye to you at home.

"You never know, I might pop up in the meantime, but otherwise I will be back in September!".

Co-host Ed Balls expressed his reluctance at her leave-taking, jokingly questioning: "Do you have to? " and playfully suggesting: "Can't you just stay for a bit? "

However, Susanna confirmed that she had to bid farewell but reassured him by saying, "I've got to say bye".
