Anita Harris shares emotional moment with Kate Garraway

Good Morning Britain presenters Kate Garraway and Ed Balls spoke to Carry On star Anita Harris on Thursday morning. The duo were speaking to the 82-year-old about her latest tribute to her late husband.

However, people watching the ITV show were left distracted by Anita’s appearance as many commented on how youthful she looked. Taking to Twitter, @kevindilworth12 added: “She looks fantastic, love Anita. I wish her well with her tribute song. She's a legend.”

@JamesDawson911 added: “She was great in the carry-on films [sic]. Very [fire] especially as a nurse [sic] Looks wicked for 82.” @Andi000211 wrote: “Anita Harris looks amazing.”

With @Helen909King tweeting: “Anita Harris hasn't aged! Has she got a portrait in the attic?” While on the show, Anita and Kate shared a heartfelt moment where both seemed to fight back tears.

Reaching out to hold Kate’s hand, Anita said: “I can’t tell you how precious this moment is. To see you after seeing you go through everything. I was a bit parallel with you darling.”

As Anita said she was on the show to bring some joy, Kate shouted: “We’re not going to cry! We’re not going to cry, are we? Because we want hope.”

Mentioning that last week marked the first year since Anita’s husband Mike Margoli died, Kate questioned how she approached it and how singing helped.

She replied: “Singing to me is life, it’s been the most comforting thing.”

The 82-year-old shared that she worked during her husband’s health battles after he had been diagnosed with cancer and later Alzheimers.

Anita added: “The words dementia and Alzheimer's seem very difficult to say for some reason they are not easy to say.

“If anything comes from you and I talking about things it’s the sharing, letting everybody, so many people are going through different challenges.

“So many challenges, I think if we share, then it’s out loud, it’s not something to be kept secret.”

Mike was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015, sadly he died last year one week after the couple had celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

To help those going through a similar situation that she did with her husband, Anita has released a tribute song in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Titled Never Lose Hope, all profits from streams and sales of the song will support the charity's research into helping find a cure for the disease.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
