Coronation Street: Abi cries at Seb's bed as she says goodbye

It looks as though the person behind making cruel videos of Coronation Street’s Abi Franklin (played by Sally Carman) is about to get revealed. It comes as the ITV soap is set to intertwine villain Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) into her life once again.

In 2021, Abi’s son Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) was brutally beaten to death by Corey and his gang for dressing like a goth alongside Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) who survived the traumatic ordeal.

As Corey tried to flee the country, with the help of his dad Stefan Brent (Paul Opacic), the criminal was caught and he pleaded guilty to murder which resulted in him being sent to prison.

In recent scenes, Abi was left disgusted when she heard a documentary was being made about Corey’s prison football team. Although she was unable to put a stop to the short film coming out, she publicly slammed her son’s killer in a video.

Since then, the garage owner has found herself the target of a deepfake storyline and it looks as though she’s sussed out who is behind it all. It all starts when Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) reveals she’s got a new job at a magazine company.

Although she’s thrilled to be back at work, her happiness is quickly clouded when her boss wants her to write a piece defending the killer.

Deciding to speak to Abi and her husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) about the article she’s been asked to do, Abi is sickened by people trying to shine a positive light on Corey.

After doing some investigating, she learns his dad Stefan is the owner of the magazine. He’s also on the board of directors for the production company behind the documentary.

With evidence mounting up, Abi realises it must be Stefan making the deepfake videos, wanting revenge on her for speaking out against Corey.

Reporting her theories to DS Swain (Vicky Myers), Stefan is brought in for questioning while Bethany pays Abi another visit.

Admitting that she’s willing to quit her job in a stand of support, she reveals it may be best for her to carry on her role to keep an inside eye on him.

Later on, Kevin decides to take Bethany’s suggestion and asks if he can have her security pass to get into Stefan’s offices, wanting to prove he’s behind Abi’s videos.

Despite her better judgement, she agrees and Kevin manages to snatch his phone and later enlists the help of Max Turner (Paddy Bever) to try and hack into the device.

When Bethany scolds Kevin for involving her family, things get worse for him when Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) gets a video of Kevin breaking into the offices.

However, he brushes it off as another deepfake, panicking that he’s been caught in the act.

Things take a turn for the worse when Stefan threatens Kevin, explaining the CCTV footage could land him in jail.
