Coronation Street: Lauren's final moments 'revealed'

Coronation Street fans issued the same complaint as new details about Lauren Bolton's (played by Cait Fitton) murder were exposed.

Wednesday's instalment (May 29) of the ITV soap continued the special run of episodes leading to the reveal of Lauren's supposed killer. Lauren has been missing from the Cobbles since February and is now presumed dead.

Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is currently in prison for her murder and is being targeted by Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron), who believes Roy killed his friend's daughter.

The episode ended with Griff confronting Roy in his cell wearing gloves, suggesting he was about to seriously harm or even kill the café owner.

However, several viewers weren't satisfied by the scenes as they took to social media to brand the storyline "boring". One wrote: "This Roy story is dragging on greatly don’t you think??"

A second agreed: "It's about time it was over." Echoing these thoughts, another declared: "This whole thing has been a total yawnfest for me."

A fourth weighed in: "It's literally boring." Meanwhile, someone else said: "Doing my head in this week just repeating what happened all time just more in depth."

Since Monday, viewers have discovered new information about what happened to Lauren, with the ITV soap now releasing a new trailer which possibly depicts Lauren's final moments.

Joel Deering Coronation Street

In the preview, Lauren's mystery attacker is wearing black gloves as he grabs her. She can then be heard screaming as the violent assailant pins her down on the floor before picking up a large object and raising it above her head.

During last night's episode, Joel Deering (Calum Lili) raised suspicion after telling Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) to give up on Roy. His questionable behaviour continued when Dee-Dee discovered that a text message sent to Lauren had perfect grammar, leading Joel to try and stop her from investigating further.

Viewers headed straight to X to share their thoughts about Joel's involvement in Lauren's disappearance. One wrote: "#corrie Joel is so guilty definitely the culprit behind Lauren’s disappearance."

Another agreed: "Joel is sooo guilty! He always turns up at the right moment #Corrie". Meanwhile a third said: "My heart already hurts for Dee-Dee when she finds out that it was Joel all along."
