Coronation Street: Sarah cries as she sits at Adam's bedside
Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt (played by Tina O’Brien) was in for a nasty shock at her baby’s gender reveal party.
During Monday night’s episode, fans of the ITV soap saw the mum-to-be attend her surprise party which was planned by her husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
Up until this point, it’s not been known who the baby’s father is following Sarah’s affair with bad boy Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).
With killer Stephen Ried (Todd Boyce) forging a letter from the hospital stating Adam was the father, all seemed to be going well, until the most recent episode.
As Daniel Osbourne (Robert Mallard) tried to find out the gender of the baby from the clinic, they wouldn’t give out the information which resulted in Adam calling himself.
However, it seemed as though the phone call revealed the truth as he learnt Sarah had lied about him being the dad.
Opening a balloon box at the party to see whether she was having a boy or girl, she was left shocked when a white balloon floated up with the words “It’s Damon’s” on it.
As Adam admitted he was the one behind the cruel revelation, he hurried out of the venue overwhelmed by anxiety.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media publications, actress Tina O’Brien spoke about Adam’s outburst.

When asked how Sarah feels about the balloon, the soap star confessed: “Ashamed, devastated, embarrassed, hurt, upset and scared.
“She didn’t know where it came from. She didn’t know who had planted it and why.
“It was a lot of confusion and feeling sick to her stomach.”
Touching on whether or not Sarah felt Adam was capable of something so cruel, Tina admitted it was a shock.
She added: “He’s a solicitor, she’s usually the one that’s very up and down.
“He can get cross and angry but he’s usually very level-headed. She wouldn’t have seen this coming from him, no.”
Does this mark the end of Sarah and Adam’s marriage for good? Or will they be able to move past her betrayal?
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
