Naga Munchetty leaves Carol gobsmacked with hilarious cooking putdown 'Blandest ever!'
NAGA MUCHETTY criticised her colleague's Carol Kirkwood's cooking skills on this morning's BBC Breakfast - prompting a stunned reaction from the meteorologist.
Breakfast: Naga Munchetty jokes about wearing ‘big coats’
On today’s BBC Breakfast, host Naga Munchetty had a ruthless comeback at weather presenter Carol Kirkwood after she delivered some not-so-great news. Keen to know if the warm weather predicted for the weekend will continue in the weeks to come, Naga mistrustingly asked her BBC co-star for advice about her wardrobe.
After Carol delivered one of today's weather updates, Naga asked: “Carol you took the thought out of my head, I am wondering how long this is going to go on for."
She then asked Carol: “May I ask a wardrobe question, please? How long till I can put my big coats away?”
“I would keep them out just a little bit longer Naga,” replied Carol.
“Give me a date Carol?” pushed on the host.

Also in the studio, Jon Kay started laughing at his co-host’s relentlessness.
Unflinchingly, Carol mentioned the date of May 29.
“Are you sure?” asked Jon, unsure about such a summery date so long away.
“I’m going to be sweating,” complained Naga.
“You know what? If I have to keep my big coat until May 29, I am coming to see you wrapped up and sit as close to you as I am allowed and just sweat next to you,” she added.
Saturday Kitchen: Naga Munchetty says food looks 'ugly'
Carol then tried to riff off Naga’s comment: “I knew you wanted to come over for my pasta and tomatoes and…”
Displeased with the menu she was presented, Naga took a final swipe: “You know what, I got nightmares after hearing that dish. Blandest food in the world.”
Naga’s culinary critical side also came out this past weekend as she appeared with co-star Charlie Stayt on Saturday Kitchen.
The show’s usual host Matt Tebbutt was accompanied by guest chef Yotam Ottolenghi, who had planned to make a vegetable dish for the BBC Breakfast presenter.

He said: "We are doing a roasted and pickled celeriac. It's all about injecting as much flavour as possible into my vegetables.
"And one of my favourite vegetables is celeriac. It's a humble root but you get so much flavour out of it."
Naga rather brashly interjected: "It's so ugly though, isn't it?" in reference to the vegetable which the chef held up for viewers.
Matt was quick to hit back at the Breakfast host, saying: "Harsh."
Taken aback, Yotam tried to defend his choice: "It's knobbly, and beautiful in its own particular way. It's not ugly."
Naga argued: "No, it is ugly. It looks like it is a growth, doesn't it?"
Matt assured that she'd enjoy the dish, as he commented: "But it's very delicious."
"We'll see," Naga jokingly commented.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
