David Platt (played by Jack P. Shepherd) has pretty much done everything he can to keep his family together as well as trying to remind Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) why they fell in love. But, next week on Coronation Street, when David throws a BBQ to stop Shona from leaving, the garden will disappear into a sinkhole. However, the star has now hinted David doesn't have much left to give.
“Shona’s on the trampoline bouncing around like a kid, David’s getting stressed trying to sort
Food,” Jack recently explained.
“He storms off then he hears a big bang and it turns out the trampoline has fallen down
a massive big sinkhole.
“Luckily no one was on it at the time but suddenly a 40 foot sinkhole opens up in the Platts back garden.”
“A guy from the water company comes round and tells them how substantial the hole is.

“The house is now potentially unstable and they’re going to have to move out while it’s in this state.
“They’re going to go to Audrey’s then Ray Crosby offers them his hotel for free and they think what a great guy.
“David’s mind is a bit blown, his main concern is getting it fixed but he knows it’s going to be expensive and he can’t afford it right now.”
But, after months of struggling to find any kind of balance in his life, David will once again be left with a big life decision to make.
“He’s really stressed, one week he’s looking at moving his wife in, the next week he’s moving
out and might be losing everything.
“He’s having a really tough time!” the star added.
This isn’t all that’s going to happen this week though.
After Shona is left with Lily Platt, something is going to happen and the young girl is going to be put in danger.

David will need to decide if he can continue being patient with the woman whose memory loss has brought about a lack of human instinct.
This could mean that David hasn’t just had enough of everything he is being faced with, but he could also be done with Weatherfield in general.
With his relationship with Shona being either the best it can be or the worst, it would make sense for David to take some time away.
He may decide his relationship with Shona is too far gone and leave her behind.
Or, maybe he could take Shona with him for the two of them to start afresh somewhere they don’t relate with tragedy.
Shona is a lot more willing to give David a proper chance now.
But also, Shona doesn’t have a lot left in Weatherfield if David leaves.
So, is this the perfect time for David and Shona to start again?
Coronation Street airs on ITV Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm.
